The Borough of Hillsdale is part of Bergen County, New Jersey, and is home to just over 10,000 residents. This very attractive & picturesque town has a colonial heritage which is evident in the lovely homes that carry influences of Dutch architecture, representing the first settlers to the area. Hillsdale Township was originally settled in 1898 and was incorporated as a borough in 1923. It is located in the most northeastern part of New Jersey, just about 5 miles away from borders with New York both to the North and East.
As one of the Pascack Valley’s largest towns, and complete with its delightful town center, historic gazebo, gas-lamp street lights and cobbled streets, it is clear why Hillsdale’s picturesque streets were selected as the filming location for the TV series Ed. It is an easy commute to New York City by bus, rail, or car. Many residents love Hillsdale’s proximity to a major metropolitan area, balanced by the small-town pleasures and relaxation of living in beautiful Bergen County.
